Miniature Textile Abstracts

I have stitched since I was seven when my Grandmother taught me to embroider. Recently I was working on a large stitched project during the day, but at night I had nothing to stitch. I was introduced to Liz Kettles' "Stitched Meditations", which are 4" x 4" squares hand-pieced with an array of fabrics. After watching her instructive video, off I went having made over 60 at this time.

We have farmed Kona Coffee for 30+years. One day our family was picking coffee together, and our oldest son was several rows above me asked, "Hey Mom, why do you stitch?" I thought for only a moment and told him, "It's my meditation process. Always has been and always will be."
