Ellen Crocker        



Biography

Ellen Crocker, a multi-media artist living in Captain Cook, Hawaii, utilizes techniques of Sumi-e (Japanese ink brush), watercolor, and Japanese Batik (roketsu-zome) to create her paintings and art quilts. Her work has been influenced by the natural beauty of Hawaii as well as her affinity for Japanese culture. Ellen's paintings and textile works cover a wide spectrum from intricate botanical paintings of orchids to abstracts painted on silk. Since 1983, Ellen has taught art in the Kona public schools, delighting in the fun of sharing art with students of all ages. Ellen also offers private lessons and group classes in Sumi-e, silk painting, and mixed media.
